View at the Lake, Just Before the Storm is an original Lake Orta acrylic landscape on paper, created during my artist residency in Orta San Giulio, Italy.

Painted by the lake while waiting for the approaching storm, the work captures the charged atmosphere of the valley. Expressive blues, greens, ochres and flashes of yellow move through the vegetation and distant landscape, while loose lines and layered paint give the scene its restless energy.

Rather than describing the landscape precisely, the painting holds the feeling of that moment: warmth, movement and the sense that the weather is about to change.
