Purchase, Shipping & Returns

For online purchases, artwork enquiries and studio collection
This page explains how purchases, shipping, collection, damage and returns are handled for original artworks by Leonoor Ruigrok.
It applies to online purchases through the website, purchases arranged by email or distance communication, and studio collection by appointment, unless agreed otherwise in writing.

Buying original artwork
Each artwork by Leonoor Ruigrok is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece. Works may include oil paint, mixed media, paper, canvas, layered surfaces, texture, framing or museum glass, depending on the specific piece.
Before purchasing, you are welcome to request additional images, detail photos, a short video or more information about size, material, framing, availability, payment, collection or shipping.
Colour, scale and surface
I do my best to show each available work as clearly and honestly as possible online. Still, an original artwork can never be fully translated through a screen.
Colours may appear slightly different depending on your device, screen settings and lighting. Scale, texture, surface, depth and subtle material details may also be experienced differently in real life. These slight variations are not considered defects.
If you are unsure, please ask for extra images or a short video before deciding.

Prices, payment and shipping costs
Prices and shipping costs are confirmed before purchase. Shipping costs depend on the specific artwork, including size, weight, material, framing and destination.
For international orders, local import duties, taxes or customs fees may apply. These costs are the responsibility of the buyer, unless agreed otherwise in writing.

Shipping
All artworks are inspected and packed with care before shipping. The safest shipping method is chosen depending on the specific work, its material, framing, size and destination.
Some works can be shipped directly. Other works may require additional protective packaging, specialist handling or separate transport arrangements.
Once the shipping method and destination are known, the shipping costs and practical details will be confirmed before the order is completed.

Collection from the studio
Collection from the studio in Voorhout may be possible by appointment. This can also be a good option if you prefer to see the work in person before taking it home.
If a work requires careful wrapping or transport preparation, this will be discussed in advance.
If you view and purchase a work in person during a studio visit, different return conditions may apply. In that case, the work has been seen in person before purchase.
Damage during transport
If an artwork arrives damaged, please contact me as soon as possible at info@laceruig.nl.
Please keep the original packaging and take clear photos of:
- the damaged artwork
- the packaging
- the shipping label
- any visible damage to the box or wrapping
Damage during transport will be reviewed carefully. Depending on the situation, a suitable solution will be discussed. Because each artwork is unique, replacement is usually not possible. A repair, refund or other appropriate solution may be arranged depending on the specific case.

Incorrect item received
If you receive an incorrect item, please contact me as soon as possible at info@laceruig.nl. The situation will be reviewed and corrected carefully.

Returns and right of withdrawal
For online purchases by consumers, the legal right of withdrawal may apply. Where applicable, you have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days after receiving the artwork.
If you wish to return a work, please contact me first at info@laceruig.nl before sending anything back. The artwork must be returned in its original condition and, where possible, in its original packaging.
Return shipping costs may be the responsibility of the buyer, unless the return concerns damage during transport, an incorrect item received or another issue for which the seller is responsible.
Refunds will be processed after the artwork has been received back in good condition, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

Non-returnable situations
Returns or refunds are generally not accepted for:
- slight colour, texture or scale differences caused by screen display or lighting
- damage caused after delivery
- missing or damaged original packaging where this affects safe return
- commissioned, personalised or custom-made works, where the right of withdrawal does not apply
- works returned without prior contact or agreement
This does not affect any legal rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
