At the Lake Under Sunflakes is an original sunlit Lake Orta landscape in acrylic on paper, created during my artist residency in Orta San Giulio, Italy. The work captures a moment when sunlight breaks through the landscape in small flashes, lighting up the vegetation and shifting colours around the lake.

Loose, expressive brushstrokes move through deep greens, turquoise, ochre, yellow and earthy violet. Rather than describing the landscape literally, the painting follows its rhythm and atmosphere: warm, lively and slightly untamed.

The title Sunflakes refers to those scattered fragments of sunlight that suddenly appear across the landscape — brief touches of light that change the whole view.
