Storm After Surfing is an original dramatic Lake Orta acrylic painting on paper, created in Italy after time spent surfing on the lake. The weather was changing and the landscape seemed to shift with it.

Deep greens, blue, ochre, red and earthy tones move through loose layers of paint. Vegetation, distant land and sky merge rather than forming a fixed view, giving the work its restless, expressive character.

The painting is less about recording the landscape precisely than holding onto the energy of that moment: coming off the water, the approaching storm and a valley suddenly intensified by colour and movement.
