Studio view, visit and art talk.
It was a great experience and a joy to have art historian and museologist Hester Wandel as a guest in my studio. She created a podcast feature about her visit to both my indoor and outdoor studio.
The Studio of…
THE STUDIO OF is the podcast in which art historian and museologist Hester Wandel visits the studios of artists, designers, architects, goldsmiths, and photographers.

Let me know if you’d like to drop by during an Open Studio Day.
A brief introduction by Hester wandel
A Studio Full of Animals
Freedom and movement are words that describe the artist Leonoor Ruigrok (1973), also known as L.A.C.E. Ruig. In her studios – she works in several locations – she experiments with various types of paint and charcoal to express her emotions. She becomes so absorbed in the moment that she even forgets her dogs and cat are walking around her. They follow her closely, even during the recording of the podcast.
Leonoor draws inspiration from stories her father used to tell her and from the rugged landscapes of Iceland, where she often travels. The rag doll shaped like a hare, which played a role in those stories, later transformed in her work into a large anthropomorphic figure. Recently, Leonoor opened the drawers in her studio and was once again struck by a wave of inspiration.
Her works are also growing in size. Fortunately, she has another studio on a small plot of land nearby. She takes Hester Wandel along in a little boat to go have a look. There, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Dutch flower bulb region, with chickens roaming around, she finds fresh inspiration.
