On February 8 and 9, I joined several guided tours during the art fair at Huis ter Duin in Noordwijk. With each group, I talked about the work, the stories behind it and how some of the paintings developed.
Some of these conversations became surprisingly personal. Several visitors also signed up to hear about future studio visits, where there is more time to see the work and talk.
Not only are the themes connected, but also my choice of materials. I work with a wide range of materials, and they can move from one series into another. For me, material can be just as much a source as an experience or a memory.
