Origin and personal layer

“And gradually that hare transformed into a sturdy, tough hare. But strangely enough, that wasn’t enough for me, because then came the deer. Indeed, the deer was even tougher and stronger. Moreover, in my imagination, it proudly stands shining on top of a beautiful dune.”

Hare emerged from the fables your father once told and reappeared in your sketches during a difficult period in your life. It became an alter ego, a companion that offered comfort and strength. Later, the Deer joined this palette as an even stronger archetype, symbolizing resilience and transformation.

Emotion & Strenght

“And yes, so the deer actually took the place of the hare. Quite masculine, strong, solid.”

HAAS – HARE

“I must have been about ten or twelve at the time. We lived close to the dunes. My father grew up in the dunes and he had these wonderful, self-invented fables about Drasper the Hare.”

The self-invented fables my father once told me brought to life a small and fragile figure that overcame everything with resourcefulness. In my work, this character grew into a symbol of cleverness and resilience, a journey from childlike wonder to mature strength.

Mixed media – texture and emotion

Mixed media, for me, is a poetic dialogue between materials and meaning, in which I let painting and drawing layers merge with charcoal, textiles, ink, and found objects. By applying acrylic, oil, and pastel in successive layers, a rich, layered landscape of texture and unexpected color interactions unfolds, inviting the viewer not only to look but to feel. The experimental process is set in motion: different media evoke distinct emotions and textures, and by combining them I deepen my own visual language. Layer upon layer, depth, tactile variation, and surprising interactions between color and form emerge, each with its own stratification of image and narrative.
