My life, inspirations, and travel stories

Wohoo! This was our Italian time together. I love to share our travel stories.
We love the land, the water, the mountains, and the classical buildings that Orta San Giulio offers us. Seeing friends, sharing surf advice, practicing, painting, and exploring each other more deeply. A wonderful time.

Family memories

The beauty of this place has truly inspired us in countless ways. We can’t wait to return and create even more unforgettable memories. We also love having all our children here, as we have built many family memories over the years and wish them even more beautiful experiences in this special place.

My husband has been coming here for over 20 years; he’s a wonderful captain and speaks more and more Italian each time. Throughout the year, we travel from the warmth of the Mediterranean to the cold of Iceland. Eating ice at Pella Italië and at Reycjavik. We also cherish our own country. All these beautiful memories are stored in our hearts, making memories.

Lovely artists couple Rob van der Plas (Artferro know from The Nederlandsche Bank renovation, Mecano, Vos Interieur, Feadship yachts)and Lace Ruig. Alias Leonoor Ruigrok

He plasters, I paint. Together we travel through landscapes and layers, with lime on his hands and paint on mine.

I am not the only artistic one at home

For artists and lovers

For artists and art lovers drawn to nature in motion, Northern Italy in summer offers a place of sensory richness and layered contrast.
Around Lake Orta, stillness and intensity take turns:
calm waters in the morning, shimmering heat by day, sudden summer thunderstorms cracking the sky wide open, and in between, the rhythm of waves, of surfing, of playing with the elements. I love to wake surf during the day and painting in the evening.

That interplay of quiet and force turns the landscape into an invitation to feel, to perceive, to let go.
It is precisely there, in the tension between movement and rest, that my paintings take shape.

Think about it: when was the last time you found silence at the center of the storm?
