It was one of those good evenings in the studio. I was working on the floor, surrounded by blue: ink, paint, mediums and charcoal. The work from my Icelandic Houses series became an almost monochrome study in different shades of blue. Scraps of fabric, cloth and pieces of wool served as brushes. Music on, Rob watching a film nearby, and me completely absorbed in my own work. With chocolate, of course.

I wanted to see what would happen if I stayed almost entirely within blue. Different materials gave different blues, surfaces and marks. The fabric and wool behaved differently from a brush, which was exactly what I wanted to explore.
