BLUE DEUX MIXEDMEDIA
I don’t create a lot of abstract artwork, but this piece is one of my favorites, showcasing earthy layered textures and structures. These textures and mixed media form the foundation of my ‘It’s Nature’ series, which prominently features the anthropomorphic creature ‘Deer’. Moreover, this series combines natural elements with symbolic storytelling, blending nature and emotion. As a result, the earthy textures and layers within the artwork bring the theme of nature to life, capturing the essence of the environment and its creatures in a truly captivating way. Thus, the piece invites viewers to reflect on the connection between nature and humanity.

MIXEDMEDIA ON PAPER IN OAK WOODEN FRAME | BLUE DEUX | 2024
100 x 70 cm (without frame) Framed: circa 105 x 75 x 3 cm
Museum framed

Unboxing my mixed media artwork with a new art frame is always an exciting moment. This time, the frame was handmade by the master framer, De Lijsterij in Voorhout. Notably, it has been crafted into a hand-colored oak frame with a vibrant hue, adding a unique touch to the artwork. Moreover, the frame is museum quality, featuring 70% UV-protective glass, which ensures that the colors and quality of the mixed media artwork remain optimal over time. I am very happy with the result! You can view the piece at Galerie Twintig in Hillegom.
Nature-Inspired Art: Layers of Earth and Elements
My nature-inspired art explores the deep connection between the earth and its elements. I create layers of soil, plant-based materials, mist, water, and air, each one representing a different aspect of the natural world. By building up these layers, I aim to capture the complexity and beauty of nature itself. Each texture and material adds a unique depth to the piece, creating a visual narrative that reflects the richness of the environment. This process allows me to express the delicate balance between all the elements that shape our world.
