“For a long time, I used to make paintings within just a few hours.
Now, I can be working on several pieces at once, creating, looking, feeling.
Sometimes I am “in conversation” with a work.”

OIL PAINTING | HOPING | 2025 | circa 140 x 80 CM | ARTSERIES: A DREAMY PERSPECTIVE | € 850,-
Oil paint on canvas

A dreamy perspective
A hopeful gaze over the wide-open landscape. “Dreampower” and the freedom to follow those dreams are recurring themes in my work. Hair blowing wildly in the wind, as if life itself is pushing you forward.
This oil painting is part of the art series A Dreamy Perspective. It’s not about the perfect image, but about the feeling of space, longing, and a softness that can cut sharp at the same time.

“It’s mainly about the way you look at things.
What do you do with everything you experience?
What do you do with everything you see, smell, feel, and how you perceive emotions in others?”

ICELANDIC HOUSES
A raw and energetic art process inspired by the wild regions of Iceland. And my dreamy perspective on the seemingly tiny houses in the vast Icelandic landscapes.

MIXED MEDIA | EVENING VIEW | 2024 | 100 x 70 CM | ARTSERIES: ICELANDIC HOUSES | museaal framed
MIXEDMEDIA ROUGHNESS

Rugged areas
A raw and energetic art process inspired by the wild regions of Iceland. And my dreamy perspective on the seemingly tiny houses in the vast Icelandic landscapes. It moves me.
With energy, I explore the enchanting Icelandic houses, contrasting their apparent smallness against the vast, rugged landscapes. Using a mix of techniques, oil paint, and acrylic. To reflect on the impressive nature and our human existence.
“A PROFOUND CONNECTION
WITH NATURE”
LACE RUIG
Every step of my journey through Iceland was a profound connection with nature. It wasn’t just the small cottages, standing sturdy and solitary in the vastness, that inspired me, but also the many colors that Iceland offers. The art series consists of about ten small artworks in oil paint, on wood, canvas, and board. The series will be exhibited this year. I am opting for a traveling exhibition so that it can occupy the space that Iceland itself breathes.

Once a month, I share my updates (exhibitions, new work) in a newsletter.
