A sneak preview of a new oil painting art series.
I work in small series and don’t repeat a series once it’s done. It comes as it comes, and I like to dive deeper into whatever I encounter along the way. While I’m working, inspiration can easily shift. Sometimes, even the theme changes because something else feels more personal and closer to who I am. That’s very important to me.

MY conceptual mind and emotions

Sometimes I think, “Hey! I have a new theme I should work on,” because I’m in a conceptual mindset. But in the end, emotion always takes over. I can plan it, but I especially have to feel it.

Right now, I’m working on a theme that revolves around “protection” and “layers.” Maybe you’ll see and feel it yourself when you stand in front of my new paintings. It will take a little more time before I can present my new series, it needs time to grow. But now and then, there’s a little sneak preview.

If this glimpse resonates with you, if something in the texture or tone speaks to a part of you that isn’t always loud, then perhaps you’d like to experience the work in person. You are warmly invited to step into my studio, nestled in the heart of the Dutch Bollenstreek, where the scent of oil paint lingers and silence hums with stories. Or visit one of the upcoming exhibitions listed on the bio page. To schedule a studio visit, you can reach out via info@laceruig.nl. Sometimes, a painting needs to be seen up close, to reveal its layers, its pulse, its quiet invitation.
